Every other blog, YouTube, and influencer page is talking about renewal right now. I have to admit, we’re doing the same. But, instead of talking about simply starting something new for the sake of it, we’d like to tell you about our recent journey to reconnect with ourselves.
Refining your vision as a business is so important to stay current with how your brand is evolving. Yet, people often neglect this, and eventually find that their brand no longer represents who they are.
So, I’d like to take this time to reintroduce Talooka Studio, as we realign our brand.
We hope it inspires you.
In full transparency, 2025 was a slow year. The administration created a dry spell of nonprofit work, which is our bread and butter. We were blessed to have enough to squeeze through.
As a silver lining, it provided us space to step back and take a look at where we’ve landed after five years of riding a “buy black” and DEI wave. That movement brought us some incredible partners like ACLU DC, Weissberg Foundation, and B’more Invested, who trusted us to collaborate with them to build their brand.
But now that we’ve had time to refocus our energy, we realized we left our own branding behind. Eight years ago, we created a logo and tacked together color and type to “get it done.” We haven’t had the time or energy to reconnect internally.
Until now.
Just as any relationship requires, we needed to get clarity on where we are now, what we have learned, and where we want to go.
Our upcoming posts will take you through our internal process of refining our brand. You’ll gain insight into the process of understanding who you are and intentionally planning where you want to go.
Because without that critical step, after years of hard work, you may find yourself somewhere you hadn’t intended.
Make sure you end up exactly where you want to be.
