What’s Guiding Your Decisions

As an evolving business, we knew that simply creating a logo or choosing colors and type wouldn’t give us the clarity we were after. Even after revisiting our values, important questions remained. Do we stay the course? Do we refine who we serve?

To answer these questions and remain true to ourselves, we turned inward to realign. We focused on our vision.

Rediscovering Our “North Star”

That’s a very important place to visit, because without it, we wouldn’t have a clear guide. We would be chasing every direction and opportunity without a sense of purpose. We asked ourselves questions like:

  • Why does our business exist?

  • Who do we want to be individually and together?

  • Who do we want to collaborate with?

  • How do we want to grow?

We actually spent two hours answering a 20-bullet questionnaire with questions like this. At times it was challenging, because we found ourselves answering the questions at a surface level. We had to push ourselves to dig deeper into “the why” certain answers mattered to us.

But this process was priceless. It revealed where we were aligned, where we’d evolved, and how our differences could point us forward.

We decided we didn’t need our audience to change. We love working with mission-oriented people driven to impact the world and the community in positive ways. So, our ideal clients remain established ventures, foundations and social good organizations.

Our vision then crystalized around ensuring that these groups get clarity and express their authentic visual identity. In fact, when visual identity is supported by strategy, growth doesn’t mean flattening your identity to be palatable. When change is intentional, it can create space for connection and sustainable growth.

The Value of a Clear Vision

As a result of our visioning process, we decided to make our brand a living representation of who we are: designers committed to using our experience, and knowledge to help purpose-driven and community-minded change-makers be successful. Our challenge was to define ourselves, and then strive to connect with those that share our vision and values.

The outcome of this visioning exercise was invaluable. We have greater clarity and confidence around our vision and our direction. We don’t have to second-guess where we spend our efforts or which projects we work on. We have a stronger basis for our messaging, too, which will sharpen our marketing and make it more effective. We are energized going into 2026, and open to new opportunities that lie ahead.

When you think of your vision, are you clear and confident? Or do things feel blurred, maybe you’ve changed or do you think it’s time to clarify your vision based on where you are now? The answer may impact your direction and where you end up this year. Make sure it’s where you want to go!
